U.S. International Development Finance Corporation

The United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is a United States federal agency created December 20, 2019, following authorization under the 2018 BUILD Act, through the merger of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation with the Development Credit Authority of the U.S. Agency for International Development and several smaller offices; it is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The DFC provides loans, loan guarantees, direct equity investments and political risk insurance to promote private-sector investment in development projects across lower- and middle-income countries, with priorities including women's economic empowerment, innovation, climate change and infrastructure, while advancing broader United States foreign policy objectives.
