Indicators that track the general level of prices in the economy and how fast it is changing, such as a consumer-facing price index, a producer-facing price index, or a broader price deflator applied to total output. Belongs here: any indicator whose primary purpose is measuring inflation or the price level itself, whether from the consumer, producer or economy-wide side. Does not belong here: an indicator that responds to price changes but measures something else, such as a wage series or a sentiment survey, even where inflation is the main thing moving it.
