Economist entities are the individual scholars this atlas documents, from foundational classical and marginalist figures through contemporary Nobel laureates and policy economists, grouped by primary field of contribution into the Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) top-level classification, the discipline's own standard scheme, run through the same thirteen currently populated bands this atlas already uses for concept entities: Mathematical and Quantitative Methods, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics, International Economics, Financial Economics, Health Education and Welfare, Labor and Demographic Economics, Law and Economics, Industrial Organization, Economic History, Economic Development Innovation and Growth, Agricultural and Environmental Economics, and others as new fields gain a live member. An economist's page links out to the school they are associated with, distinct from the JEL field grouping here, which classifies by subject contribution rather than by theoretical tradition.
