Institution entities are the organizations this atlas documents as concrete actors in the world economy, grouped into ten functional bands: Central Banks and Monetary Authorities, Multilateral Development Banks and Institutions, International Monetary and Trade Organizations, Stock Exchanges and Market Infrastructure, Regulatory and Standard-Setting Bodies, Credit Rating Agencies, Historic Trading Companies and Banks, National Treasuries and Fiscal Authorities, Research and Policy Institutions, and Economic Forums and Coordinating Bodies. This band is the atlas's largest by member count and is expected to keep growing toward comprehensive real-world coverage of every central bank, exchange, regulator and major historic trading concern, distinct from the economist who may have led or studied one and from the concept a research institution may be known for developing.
